Blog Interview

Today I interviewed my friend and fellow blogger, Kathleen. Her blog is A little bean in a big world and I hope you check it out!

What is your favorite book, and why?

My favorite book is "It's kind of a funny story", because I love the meaning behind it.

What is your dream job?

My dream job is to own a coffee shop, but also be a part time artist.

What is your favorite place and why?

Disney Land, because she felt like a kid again.

How would you describe your style?

Lazy and grunge.

Coffee or tea? Why?

Coffee, because it has more variety.

What three makeup products can you not live without?

Too Faced Better than Sex mascara, Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation, and NYX matte cream lipstick.

Do you want to go on any road trips? With who, and where?

I want to drive through the Rocky mountains with my friends Alexa and Savannah.

Would you rather cook or bake? What is your favorite thing to cook or bake?

I like baking, and my favorite thing to bake is cupcakes.

What is your favorite music artist?

Twenty One Pilots.

Favorite movie of all time and why?

The Goonies because I grew up with it and I have visited the site that it was filmed on.

Beauty Fail Story

For school, our assignment was to find a picture that related to our blog topic, and to write a story about it.


I looked ridiculous, but this was my only modeling job I had since moving. My mom was always asking how my modeling career was going in New York. I had taken my college savings, and left the small town in Connecticut for the big apple. It has been six months since then, and things had not worked out as planned. I moved into a box of an apartment, and tried to get my name out there. I had been turned down by countless companies, and at last, I had found one that would take me. The designer was a tiny man, who wore layers upon layers of animal skins. He never took of his sun glasses, and always had a glass of Brandy in his hand. His name was Chartreu, no last name, like Cher. His fashion designs are wild and extravagant, often making no sense at all. I thought he was joking when he told me what I was going to be wearing. He wasn't. There I was, about to walk my first runway in New York, with a shoe strapped to my head. This is not a good start to my modeling career.

A Poem about Fashion

For a class assignment, we had to make a poem about our topic. Again, I just chose fashion because I had to pick my phrases from a magazine article. No judgments please, I'm no poet, but I tried. Here it is-

Fashion is...

Fashion is

a cute little get-up,

with a pair of killer boots,

and a statement hand bag

Fashion is

a long satin skirt,

a flattering sweater,

a cute on-trend crop top

Fashion means

chic, stylish, effortless comfort

or sweetly retro and super fun

Fashion is you.


I found it really hard to make it look and sound decent, but in the end I think it turned out okay. I think that the easiest part was picking out the phrases I liked, because I knew what I was looking for.

Beauty and Fashion Poem

For class, we have to post a poem that relates to our blog, and since it is hard to find a poem that refers to lifestyle, but doesn't just talk about the meaning of life. Instead I limited myself to just beauty and fashion and I came up with this amazing poem/quote spoken by Audrey Hepburn.

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived,  reclaimed, and redeemed; Never throw out anybody.
Remember, If you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

Top 5 Drugstore Beauty Products of 2015

My last post was about my favorite high-end products of 2015, and this post is about my favorite drugstore products. I must admit that I believe high-end products are much nicer and higher quality than drugstore, which is to be expected. Although these five seem to be high-end quality.

1. Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks




These lipsticks are my favorite lip products at the drugstore. They are creamy and pigmented. There are tons of colors, and they offer both matte and shine. They don't last all day, but as they wear off, they don't flake or peel. Overall, these are really good lipsticks, at a really good price. 2. Milani Brow Tint Pen


For the bulk of the year, this was my daily brow routine. Now I have upgraded to the Anastasia Brow Wiz which is quite different from this, because this is a felt tip pen instead of a pencil. I think it was a really good product and looked really natural. This product lasted me a long time and was a really good asset to have in my makeup collection. 3. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
This concealer is super creamy and really good coverage. It doesn't crease, but works best for under your eyes rather than a spot cover-up. 4. NYX blushes

5. Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream


This BB cream is basically just a slightly tinted moisturizer with SPF 15 in it. It's really creamy, but be warned, it doesn't have very much coverage, so it's better for beginners. Top 5 High-end Beauty Products of 2015

Hello Everyone! The new year is upon us and in 2015 I discovered TONS of good makeup this year, that I'm sure will still be in my favorites next year.




1. The Urban Decay Naked palette.

I've used this palette all year, because I got it last Christmas, and I love it. At first, the shadows didn't seem as pigmented as promised, but as I used it more often, the pigmentation became much better. I think the reason that this happened is because I needed to break through the initial layer of shadow, that may have dried up more than the rest. 2. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes


These blushes are very pigmented, and offer a wide range of colors. Be warned, these are very pigmented, so be light on the color at first, until you figure out the pigmentation of the blushes. They aren't extremely buttery, but they aren't chalky either. I like them because they last throughout the day as well. Here is a link to where you can buy these blushes.

3. Becca Cosmetics Highlighters


These highlights are AMAZING quality. The pigmentation is beautiful, but requires, like the blushes, a light hand. The packaging is also beautiful, and incredibly sturdy. They offer a couple different shades, so that it will suit all skin tones. One major downfall, is the price. It is quite expensive, so you might have to save for a while. Here is a link:

4. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner


This is the eyeliner that I use everyday. I have repurchased this too. I do not always use this eyeliner, as I have found decent drugstore eyeliners as well. Though none of them seem to be quite as good. Many of the eyeliners I have used dry out quickly, or the pen isn't the right flexibility. This liner isn't matte, which can be a downfall, in certain looks. Here is a link:

5. Benefit Roller Lash
The Benefit Roller Lash deserves an A+ for the packaging. I like this mascara, and it seemed to get even better as it dried out a bit. Why Lifestyle?

Vince Lombardi once said, " The man on top of the mountain didn't fall there." I like this quote because it is very inspiring, and relates to my life directly. and it relates to my topic because it symbolizes my lifestyle. I believe that you have to work hard, in order to succeed. Happiness doesn't get handed to you.


There are a few reasons why I decided to create my blog about lifestyle. One reason that I chose lifestyle as my topic, was to be able to branch out, and write about more than one thing. I like more than just beauty or just fashion. Another reason, is because I find lifestyle bloggers very interesting. I follow a couple lifestyle bloggers, and I am interested in the topics they talk about.
